Nat,I for one have numerous books on hoof trimming. Most of my goats came to me with real over grown feet. I have at least 3 different sizes, and shapes of trimmers! I eaven paid 40 $ for a pair of rachet- rose bush trimmers, My delima is I dont have any help and not much knowledge of the goat hoof.I put them in the milk stand ,but thier so strong I cant hold a hoof still and trim that real tough wall at the same time.Well, the way I solved this problem ,Is long gravel road walks, its the long way around ,but it helps. The only other way is to start trimming them day one .Good luck keeping those little wiggle worms in a full grown milking does head stall!! I'm going to have a kid feeder head stall built, and try that.Your right about the wood rasp,Your post helped me a lot on understanding just what you are really looking for in trimming. Thanks Nat. goat mom
