Gloria:

It is a possibility that Bill E Jack had either listerosis or Goat Polio.

I contacted goatworld 911 and Judy was absolutly wonderful. I was really confused too, because none of our feed or hay had mold on it. The only change in diet our goats had, is because we opened up the rest of the pasture, we started feeding them goat chow only once per day, verses the twice..hence the change in diet..I thought maybe he got into the calf starter and that had mold, but I checked and found nothing..

Regardless we gave him shots of B Complex and Penicillian for 5 days and the blindness is gone, he is no longer lathargic and his he has mobility in his hind legs again..

I need to mention, we use LA200 for an antibiotic here too..my husband swears by it, as does his family..but LA200 is not a cure all for everything unfortunatly. It is not a broad spectrum anti-biotic, although we have used it for pneumonia before and so far had wonderful results (it burns a little more than the other anti-biotics too). I realize I am a little late here, and your last post was on the 13th (today is the 15th) so how is your goat responding?? I am just getting back from vacation and trying to get caught up (yea right..LOL)

Helene
