I think I remember reading somewhere that if your goat is polled, you can move the skin around over the skull where the normal horn would appear. In a horned kid the skin over the horn bud won't move. There are some good articles on GoatWorld about polled goats. Go to the GoatWorld Home Page, click on GoatWorld Articles, then type in polled goats in the google search section-highlighting Search GoatWorld. Hope this helps. The way I look at it, in having a polled goat, you don't have to go to the pain and trouble of disbudding them.
