Ok guys I am trying to write but I just got up very tired and sore after dealing with the cold and Granny so IF I leave things out please ask.
A friend of mine is loosing baby goats left and right as we speak. She had them on fresh cows milk and life was good (the cream was skimmed off). Unfortunatly her production needs were more than the milk producer could get for her. So she switched them to cow milk with cream and a powdered milk still no problems. The milk producer had a cow freshen so she tried to switch back to the cow milk. Her husband not knowingly gave the milk w/o taking the cream off. So now we have babies with the screamers!!!! It was suggested they could have overeaters disease so we gave 15 shots on Sat. of antitoxin. NOW I dont' know if they have a temp and what it is. I can tell you they all are dehydrated (the mini jobs are BAD, the Nubians ok) I can also tell you adding to the problem they have snotty noses the mucus is white to clear, as well as lice the lice are black I don't know what kind that is. Because they are so small I told her to give them 1/2tablespoon of kaolin every 3 hrs for no more than 2 days and stop if they get stopped so they would not get constipated. She is also giving probos and electrolytes. They are in a barn w/o drafts and under a heat lamp. Any ideas you have I will pass on. Thanks in advance. Oh it is not Coccidea they were tested yesturday for that. However Cocci is very hard to see in a microscope and I don't know how good the vet or tech. is that looked. At this point nothing can be ruled out . Thanks again Karen
