I use a halter not a collar. They cost around $5 and the goat won't choke when pulling on the lead. My 5 yr old grandson walks the 8 month old Boer wether every morning for 10 minutes. It's taken about 2 months and he's halter broke.
If the goat refuses to move, don't pull straight ahead on the lead and attempt to drag the goat. Instead pull the lead to one side making the head turn as if trying to walk in a circle.
Also if the goat rears or trys to run, do the same manuver. Make the goat turn in a circle and it will stop rearing or running.
