I was over at my friends farm Saturday night to ee the last of the wethers I am purchasing from her and while looking at the babies we noticed that her doe that is due on the 13th had a string of blood (about 10 to 12 inches) hanging. We thought for sure she was going to have the baby and put her in a stall where she would get up and down she even looked like she was having contractions for a while. this is the does first baby and she still hasn't had it today (Monday). should we be really concerned or is this common?? I don't know much about the kidding process and was hoping to get to see a birth because I plan to start raising them. Since saturday she hasn't had any more blood discharge and is walking around and eating and drinking fine. Any information would be greatly apreciated. we even searched the field where she had access to incase she had had it but she still looks preg. but seems like she has dropped since her hips are a little sunken but tummy still feels very solid underneath. thanks in advance I'll check back a few times today to see if you have any information or questions.
