Had the same thing happen this yr too to one of our kids. She got her foot caught and it was badly bruised. She didn't want to put too much weight on it but evenbtually after a few days she did. I used comfrey paste and alternated with vicks vapo rub for relief. She was fine after a few weeks. now not all have a happy ending, so you may want to watch her or even immobolize it just to be safe. hope this helps. Oh, depending on the degree of swelling you may also want to give her an anitbiotic, especially if its hot to touch.
