Copenhagen for goats?

I met this old time goat and sheep farmer and he swears by Copenhagen chew tobacco to control worms. Has anyone else heard of this? Does it work? Does it hurt the animal? This fellow is convinced that it works and isn't willing to discuss into detail with me any losses he had had. All input will be great. We currently rotate yearly over the counter wormers. We raise Boer goats. Thanks
