It is not the grass that caused the UC, it is the silicates in the sand the grass is growing in. I guess they are eating sand when they forrage in the grass, and their bodies can't process all the silicates. The silicates cause the "stones" for lack of a better term. And then of course, they get these blockages. It is very scary, but the UGA Dr.'s said there are dietary supplements that can be given to the goats to help them deal with these silicates. I am excited to be picking him up tomorrow. They will give me thier new diet regimen then.

ALSO, I would like to thank Maggie from Magindan's Minis. She was invaluable in helping me with a problem with the goats I hadd earlier. I found her thru the Goatworld.com 911 link. Maggie is a peach! Thanks again.
