I understand it the same as you stated. The buck determines the sex of the kids and the doe who produces the eggs, determines the number of the kids. Some bucks do tend to throw more male offspring. My brother who has a small herd of Jersey cows had a bull that threw thirteen bulls in a row until a heifer came along. He sold the bull in January but is still having little bulls born. His next bull started off on the right hoof with a heifer. There is a lot of controversey on when in the cycle you breed the doe to get more doe kids or to add vinegar to the water to increase acidity to encourage more female offspring. I would give him another year to see how he does before I would give up on him. Dalice
