Hi Mary,

That's some great research you have done on the activated charcoal. I had heard that it was used for a number of different poisonings but wasn't sure of the extent of its use. I know that every time I burn a pile of wood or leaves, the goats will roll around in the ashes as soon as they cool down - I guess that is some form of charcoal.

We've got poison oak and poison ivy here in droves and no sooner than I build more fence around our woods, the goats have it all controlled. I just wish they would get the clinging vines that embed themselves on the treetrunks and climb. Haven't had any problems yet with poison oak/ivy being a problem for our goats, but perhaps they are getting their charcoal from the burn piles or the baking soda is keeping them balanced.

Nice day today here too. Have a great time at that dairy festival.

Best regards,

Gary
