Hi Guys...Today I went over to pick up some chickens that my friend was giving away. I was also anxious to see her two sets of twins that her pygmy goats recently had. One set is a week old, and the other a couple of days old. When I got there, I met her coming out of the barn. She looked very sad. One of the baby goats was missing. She had searched everywhere, and he was nowhere to be found, and no sound of him. She had let the babies and mommies out into the yard, as it was a sunny day, and she thought they would like the fresh air and exercise. They have a beautiful open yard...very sunny, not alot of trees. She went inside for about an hour and came out to find one mommy screaming. She looked around and found the baby was gone. The only thing we could figure that may have happened is that possibly a hawk could have swiped him. Has anyone ever heard of a hawk taking a goat? Do any of you guys have any other ideas as to what could have happened to him?? Remember, we are upstate NY, so there aren't alot of predators. Thanks for listening.
~Mary
