My vet raises high $ show Nubians & Alpines. He feeds the same mixture I do to does (horse sweet feed/Alfalfa/Sunflower seeds/cracked corn/oats) & bucks (cracked corn/horse sweet feed/Oats). He has raised them for 35 years & never once had a problem with this. He never feeds the bucks extra protein though because he said in vet school they were told not to & it also says so in alot of various goat keeping books. As for saying the horse sweet feed causes it & not protein thats not true. I think I'll believe my vet (since he has raised them so long) & my goat books... My vet has never had a calculi problem nor have I.
