I prefer cutting to any of the other methods, it's quick and little bleeding. I cut 40 this spring with no problems. Just clean your knife good and we used fly spray afterwards. I also kick them out on clean pasture so they are not laying around in dirt. They were all eating and going fine. They werte a little sore but there is no way to avoid some pain when you are removing a body part. If you've never seen it done, you could even watch how they cut calves. It'll probably be worse for you then your little guy. Good luck, Stephanie
