I have training my goats for the showring for five years. Don/Texas is right to say use a collar and turn them to the side. Also, I use treats (animal crackers, etc.) to get them to follow me. For a particularly stubborn one. I take a lead rope or lunge line like we use for the horses. I attach that to the collar and run it around behind the goat. I also have my regular lead rope on. The back end pressure usually helps to get the goat to walk and you don't have to drag it by the neck. I don't know what kind of goats you have but Pygmys are shown with short leashes attached to their collar. Meat and dairy are held by the collar or at least they are around here in my 4H and FFA shows. Good luck!!!!
