Hi, and thank you for that suggestion. Right now we are in the process of building a new barn, and will be done soon. The way we have it set up is that off of one side will be the "goat house" and the other side of the barn will be the "chicken house". We are also going to put a little holding pen inside the goat house for any babies we get that need to be bottle fed etc. so thanks to your suggestion, what I will do is put the baby goats feed in there, and close over the door until they are done eating.

Right now we have a "holding pen" but it is on the other side of the fence, away from the goats. We originally built it to quarantine any new goats we get until we make sure they are healthy before putting them with our herd. What we used it for though was for the bottle feds, as we had 3 of them at a time. I can't put the babys in there to eat, because we have several little ones, aside from those 3 wheened bottle feds, and as I said it is away from our field. So I guess for now until the barn is finished, which will be within a week or so, I will have to sit out and watch them to make sure they eat.

I feel so bad for them, because we feed the dog when we feed the goats, and the little ones all wind up trying to go for the dog food after the bigger ones gobble up their feed, and "Ralph" is not all that happy with that, he will let one baby in particular eat with him, but they all are going over there, I caught him last night growling at them, and actually nipped one in the ear..didn't hurt him, just basically wanted to get the point across that is his food and he is not sharing..LOL
