We have raised lots of wethers and some of them do tend to leak some. If you see them stretching more than normal and straining to pee then you need to get concerned. I have tried dry lotting and letting them run on pasture to keep them from getting too big of a belly. Couldn't tell the difference, a lot of it is genetic. I have always given them hay until the last month before showing and then give them a little bit to keep the enzymes in the gut working good. Seems to they are healthier and happier when they can get some natural forage. You might let them out for a couple of hours a day, that shouldn't cause a grass belly.
