Third Teat Tribulation?
I need some advice. We discovered tonight that a doeling I was planning to keep, has a third teat. She was being kept by a friend with one of our older does while my friend tried her hand at keeping a milk goat. My gut tells me I should get rid of her, but my heart it aching.. We have been over there every day and my little girl is very attached to her. I was planning for this to be the first goat she took to show.. Is this deformity common? could I have it removed? She has a great body (legs, top line, secretion area, ect) and her mother milks 10lbs a day as a first freshener.. I am not into showing full scale yet but I was taught I should only keep stock that is show worthy? what should I follow heart or head? Dose anyone think keeping her for a milker only and selling all of her kids as they are born , to be hard hearted? I am so confused.
