I always thought that my damn Toggenburgs were a ROYAL pain in the rear. My first doe had put me through so much I almost swore that I'd never get another. Everything was wrong with this doe - I could have swore that she had "brain burn" as a kid... or maybe was born with out one. Stubborn, and kingpin of the pen. Even the poor buck would hide when she came out in the morning. Once you could drag her to the milk stand, she'd procede to dump her grain, eat a few dairy wipes and then let you finish milking with a rear foot in the pail.. :-D
I personally like the Oberhasli's... but this breed at the moment is still a work in progress. We don't have the high milk production, nor the high butterfat that the "vocal nubians" :-) have, but I like the mellow personality that the Obi's have. In New England, it seems like a popular bunch, but it all depends on who you talk to.
Just wanted to add in a few laughs :-)
