I can totally relate.... Having a lod verbal exchange myself over how to redo a paddock....We have tied goats out... we used strong dog chain clipped to heavy gauge stock collars. We connected it to something stationary ie tree, fence etc. You can try those stakes they have for dogs with wire lines...I tied a sheep with one that worked ok. If your girls get tangled... wich I doubt... they are usually smart enough to figure it out. Have you considered a herding dog(Austraian shepard) to keep an eye on them. Mine does well with the goats. Go'fer herds them up.... You could mow..dry the left over stuff in sun & make hay.Hope that helps.
