I have used shavings and here's why I quit-they get into everything!They are a headache to pick out of fleeces and strain out of milk. Plus I have had problems with allergic reations in my dogs (not with the goats but you never know)

Out here straw is cheaper too.There are some farmers out here who use corn husks for their deep bedding in their farrowing houses. That might be ineteresting.
