Cathy,
I just had a similar situation with a Cashmere Nanny and it was "antibiotic fever". The nanny had been on two separate antibiotics for foot rot problems and on the third round, she developed sudden, severe laminitis-like symptoms. She was dorsally recumbant and crying with pain. Her feet were hot and clearly painful. Called the vet and he said this was most likely an inappropriate response to the high levels of drugs she had been receiving. Apparently this is not uncommon in cats, but it's really rare in goats. The only cure was to discontinue the antibiotics and treat for pain and inflamation. She recovered in 24 hours. Is your doe still lame or did she recover too?
