Blanche was purchased from a friend who was uncertain of her origin other than that she came from a Spanish goat herd and who was originally known by us as #596. Upon updating tags, on the other side of the tag was the name "Salem" - must have been her original name. We immediately gave the name Salem to her first offspring on our farm between Blanche and Mr. Billy. We mated Blanche again the next year with Mr. Billy and the result was a young buck we named Fernando. Blanche is our attempt at adding some of the cross bloodlines in our herd and has consistently produced quality, single kids and has the trait of going off away from the herd to kid instead of using the pens or shelters provided. Very unique goat that we plan to keep for quite some time.
