DESCRIPTION:
A wormer for use in drinking water for the control of large roundworms (Ascaridia spp.) in chickens and turkeys, large roundworms (Ascaris lumbricoides) and nodular worms (Oesophagostomum spp.) in swine, large roundworms (Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina) in dogs and cats, and large roundworms (Parascaris equorum), strongyles (Strongylus vulgaris) and small strongyles and pinworms (Oxyuris equi) in horses.
DIRECTIONS FOR TREATMENT
Chickens

Add 1 fluid ounce of Piperazine-17 to 1 gallon of drinking water and treat 100 birds under 6 weeks of age or 50 birds over 6 weeks of age.*

Turkeys
|
Add 2 fluid ounces of Piperazine-17 to 2 gallons of drinking water and treat 100 birds under 12 weeks of age or 50 birds from 12 to 18 weeks of age.*

Swine
|
Mix 1 fluid ounce of Piperazine-17 to 1 gallon of drinking water for each 100 pounds of body weight.
*Author uses this product for goats although the product packaging does not indicate (nor caution) use on caprines.

Horses
|
Give 1 fluid ounce Piperazine-17 for each 100 pounds of body weight. Give the full dose with a dose syringe. If feed administration is preferred, give bran mash with a small amount of Piperazine-17 for 2 or 3 feedings, then give full dose in bran mash. Repeat treatment in 30 days or when necessary.

Dogs and Cats
|
Give 1 ml. (15 drops) Piperazine-17 for each 6 pounds of body weight. Dose the dog and cat individually or give in milk, water or food. Repeat treatment in 30 days or when necessary.

WATER PROPORTIONER DIRECTIONS
For a medicator which delivers 1 fluid ounce of medication per gallon of drinking water, use directly from the bottle and medicate according to the following directions:
Chickens

Allow 1 gallon of medicated water for each 100 birds under 6 weeks of age or 50 birds over 6 weeks of age.*

Turkeys
|
Allow 2 gallons of medicated water for each 100 birds under 12 weeks of age or 50 birds from 12 to 18 weeks of age or 25 birds over 18 weeks of age.*

OTHER DIRECTIONS
Give as the first and only drinking water in the morning and allow it to remain until it is all consumed.
Treat chickens and turkeys at 4 to 6 weeks of age and repeat treatment monthly or when necessary.*
Treat swine at 8 to 10 weeks of age and repeat treatment monthly or when necessary.
Treat gilts and sows 1 month before breeding and 1 month before farrowing.
* FOOTNOTES
* For flock treatment of chickens and turkeys, use as a sole source of water for 1 to 2 days.
GENERAL INFORMATION:
One 8 ounce unit of Piperazine-17 provides treatment for:
800 chickens 4 to 6 weeks of age
400 chickens over 6 weeks of age
400 turkeys under 12 weeks of age
200 turkeys from 12 to 18 weeks of age
100 turkeys over 18 weeks of age
800 pounds of swine body weight
2 Tablespoons equals 1 fluid ounce
PRECAUTIONS:
Although Piperazine-17 is a drug with a wide margin of safety, occasionally an animal may show nausea, vomiting, or muscular tremors. Such side effects are usually associated with over-dosage. Therefore, recommended dosage should be followed carefully. Animals with known kidney pathology should be treated only by a veterinarian.

Each 100 cc contains 17 grams of Piperazine base. Color, flavoring, and preservative added.
