Thanks for the help...her three bucks are all over us and very friendly, maybe she was just being over protective, she only does it in the pen and if you put your hand up she'll turn her head and leave you alone. I could have been moving to quickly as we got more comfortable with her too. She'll let me take her bottle baby right from the side of her now and I always put him right back in front of her face so she can sniff and see he's OK. She wasn't ever one to walk up to you on any given day she just walks away and she is really hard to catch for shots. But since we've spent all the time with her and the babies sometimes she'll let me pet her side now and again but I have to move real slow. Anyway thanks for the advice-we'll see how things go next time. I'll let you know when my other babies get here. Cindy

Could be an injury or scar tissue from mastitis. Lots of does have raised multiple kids with only one side functioning. Give her another go, keep her nicest doe kid and move her on. Attitude is inherited too. More or less handling does not really seem to affect whether a goat is aggressive or not and she sounds pretty aggressive. I have NEVER had a doe butt me and only one of my bucks ever try such rudeness. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

When we talked to the people we bought her from they said they didn't have the problem so maybe she got mastitis? There is a round ball at the top of the teat-any ideas what it could be? Cindy

We have a doe who just had triplets. The first born is the smallest who gets pushed around the most we supplement him with milk the other two won't take it and don't look like they need anything of the kind. All three babies are healthly and doing wonderfully. Like I said the first is the runt but the other two are just as big as some of our larger twins. Their mom has a blocked teat, the vet said he could do surgery but probably not worth it and agrees with everyone else who is also telling us to cull her and take her to market. She isn't the nicest goat by far (she'll butt you anywhere she can if you're not careful but she never really liked us near her-guess she didn't get handled much...seems less protective now though...but she is a good mom and takes care of her babies. She had a rough labor-1st one breech, 2nd normal, 3rd (my first horrible experience) took over 45-1 hour to find out how to get that baby out of her. Short and long of it is he was upside down, one leg out one leg back with the head bent back kinda like how they sleep somtimes and it looks like they broke their neck with the neck pressed up against the cervix (thought it was the butt because of the way the feet where facing because he was upside down...Anyway everyone has their horror stories, that's mine.-think it's good to share though when we have problems to think back on what others said. Never occured to me he was upside down! all this background for one simple question... What are your thoughts keep her or cull her. We will probably give her at least another go but looking for opinions. 3 gorgeous healthy kids only supplementing one???hhhmmmmmmm????? Cindy
