He will be fine until the vet can look at him and discuss your options. You have to figure this happens often enough and wild goats woudl probably heal up fine.

It was his hard part horn that was bent at his skull. I sprayed the soft tissue that was exposed with betadine and it is forming a scab and seems to be healing well. I've given him penicillin for 2 days. No signs of infection. He's grazing and seems to be in less discomfort than he was yesterday (day after the incident). I'm giving him children's liq. motrin once a day for pain instead of the banamine. He screamed when I gave him banamine. I just couldn't hurt him any more.
Our vet is out of town this week, so I won't be able to make an appt for him to be seen until next week. Do you think that this will be OK? The horn does not seem to be putting any pressure on his head, although it is too tender for me to check for sure.

Was this a horn or a scur? My call would be to leave it alone or have a vet dehorn him, not to do it yourself.

Last night one of our billy kids was playing with another billy. They butted heads and Cowboy's hard part of his horn bent back across his head. This exposed the soft tissue of the horn. Now what should I do about the horn. Leave it alone? Band the soft tissue-ouch to dehorn the broken part? Can anyone offer any advice?
I am giving him banamine for pain and penicillin to combat any possible infection. Any other course that I should do instead? Atleast he is eating and grazed some today. Thanks for your help.
