Hi, I am wondering if it is safe to give bio-myacin to does in late pregnacy for foot rot, or if it would be better to just keep doing the footbaths alone. I have her penned up for a few days to try and keep her feet dry, as it is very wet here in my neck of the woods. But I also know that exercise is very important. My vet gave me oxy-tet 300 which is a once every 7 day shot, which I gave her a couple months ago, but as soon as it rained again, she started limping again. Does this long acting leave the goats system faster than other animals because of their fast metablolisms? Also am wondering if it would be a benifit to use the footrot vacs.
Thanks, Violet

The foot rot vacs don't work for goats. I have had very good success using Kopertox for footrot and even putting the oxytet right on the affected foot. The oxytet is safe for does in late pregnancy. Follow the vets recommendation.
