Yep corn is likely the culprit and corn is not especially good for goats. It is just empty calories, goat candy, used to fatten for market at the lowest cost possible. Pygmy goats don't need fattening, they get fat on air!

I use vegetable oil to treat for bloat, for pygmies give about 1/4 cup using a turkey baster. Be sure to not tip the head back too far, just raise the nose slightly. Then stand the goat so that the head end is higher than the tail end, and massage the left flank just in front of the hip very deeply to help break up the froth trapping the gas and to allow the goat to burp. Cut out all grain and corn for now, give only hay.

If you are worried about the goats staying warm it is the fermentation of forage and roughage that creats the most body heat, not the digestion of grain. Plenty of hay is what's needed.

HELP-pygmys are bloated - tried baking soda not sure how much they ate cause it snowed. Just added cracked corn (I'm assuming the culprit) about 1 1/2 weeks ago-bloated for at least 4 days now. Any suggestions! Corn mixed in with pellets.
