You are right this is not an emergency, please don't post these questions on this forum, that is what the non emergency forum is for. But to answer your question baking soda helps neutralize an over acidic rumen. Some goats like to use it some goats don't. Any goats getting enough quality hay or browse usually don't want baking soda. Goats on a high grain diet do want it. You can buy feed grade baking soda at the feed store for alot less than those little boxes at the store. Please remember to use the non emergency forum for questions like this. Not an emergency, but would like to know why baking soda is given free choice for goats? Maybe I am missing something and possibly help with my eye problems in my nannies. Thanks Doug |
