Started using a heat light for the kids set-up like a creep feeder(kids can get in does can't) should I be concerned about the light and their eyes? Should I use a certain color bulb?

Their eyes are okay, they know not to look into the light. The main concern is starting a barn fire. It is incredibly easy to burn down your barn. If the kids have a draft free place to snuggle together they don't need a heat source. I know of pygmy kids in Alaska that do just fine with no other heat source than each other and thir dams. If the kids can reach the light at all it is a disaster waiting to happen.

I have used a hogmat (like a heating pad but made as a rigid fiberglass mat) in my barn for the kids. It is mostly to spoil then they don't actually need it. It is much safer if used according to directions with no bedding.
