I just gave her 1cc Anem-x, and probably 1/2 oz of the nutri-drench and 3cc b-complex. I had a problem giving her the shots, though. I punctured the skin and injected the medicine and much of the meds came out of the injection site. What did I do wrong? The same thing happened when I gave the b comp. to the little goat. Also, I have never given a shot IM..I gave it in her back leg, where the books say, and some of that stuff oozed out and it seemed to really hurt. It was awful. Am I missing a trick on giving shots? Also, can I re-use these needles? Would I clean them with rubbing alcohol or something, pouring it into the syringe, and thru the needle? The needles are 20 gauge. Both of my goats are acting ok, but they just are not eating their grain. Miss Pygmy is eating hay, but I haven't seen the little one eat yet. Their grain hasn't changed, its still a sweet feed mix, and a hobby mix together, with rolled corn, barley, grain pellets, oats, molasses. Its been the same for at least 3 months, when I began mixing the hobby blend with the sweet feed. I was told the sweet stuff was too rich for goats, so thats why I was cutting it. Same hay, water, goat minerals. Sigh. If you have any other suggestions please let me know. Thanks!:-) |

Vitamin B can't hurt. And it may keep her from having complications by improving her immune system. |
