I would wait a week in between to be sure there is no interaction. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

Ok, I'll be sure to get the Bo-Se from the vet and give the CD&T quarterly. Is it ok to use the ivomec as an injectible and the valbezan at the same time? Megan

His advise seems sound.. The ivermectin as an injectable would be for deerworm. Doesn't hurt to give AD and E yearly. The selenium gel has so little selenium and vitamin E in it that once a year isn't going to do much, since it says to give DAILY. Give BoSe once or twice a year instead. Yes you are in a selenium deficient area. It has been found that the CDT vaccine is not especially effective in goats. Boostering every time in 21 to 30 days does no harm. Many goatkeepers are now giving it quarterly especially if they have a problem with entero in their herd. With a history of polio it might be a good idea in your herd too. Ok, I finally had the vet out to my house on Monday. I wanted to get another opinion to make sure all of my little guys are up to par. He took a look at Jett, my one that had polio, and seems to think he's doing fine. That gave me a bit of relief. I have a few questions though about some of his suggestions. I've been worming with ivormec and he suggested switching to valbezan. His concern was that ivomec doesn't fight as many parasites as valbezan and that it would be more effective against meningeal worms (he said he was slightly concerned of that considering the deer population going though our property). He did say though to use the ivomec as an injection twice a year. I'm not sure on his reasoning for that. I think it was because of the deer worm. Also, he said to give an annual a, d, & e vitamin. What else... He went ahead and gave them their annual cd&t but told us to give it again in a month. I thought you only followed up with that the very first time you give it to them. Also, he said to give them the selenium & vit. e gel annually. I wasn't aware that I am in a selenium def. area. Is that the same as bo-se? Otherwise he seemed to think they were pretty healthy. Any comments on his suggestions? Megan
