Hi Alex. Her behavior instinct is interesting. I do not think they forget their mamas so easily. When the herd beds down the kids and the mamas sleep together, even the older kids at 1 yr of age. Also I notice that goats get into a habit of sleeping in the same place over and over unless a more dominant goat takes over that spot. I think your kid doe may instinstively miss the presence and security of her mom until she ages more or has kids of her own. |

Hi I have a Saanen/Apline/Nubian doe that is the sweetest goat i have ever met i got 2 does in 2005 and sent them off to be bred and only 1 came back bred so i said ok. So 5 months later my doe had a single doe and she was the cutest kid ever. But i was at school so missed the birth and seen where she would have had her. Now almost 1 year later she sleeps in the same spot where she fell out. (the blood stained the wall and can see it) Now i sold her dam 3 months ago and she took it ok. I think they forget they were mom and dauther . Im thinking that may-be she misses her and sleeps there in the same spot is this true or am i going crazy?
