Dear Tina,
I am so sorry for your loss.
You can let mama see baby.
She may nudge her and know. Or not. Sometimes they don't act the way we expect. Maybe they accept fate a lot better than we do.
It is harder for US when it is one of "Our" babies.

My baby has died, should I let mama see her, she was the only one. The Vet killed her, he disbudded her and cracked the skull. The other vet that saw her tonight said it went too deep.

I think I am going to lose her. The vet is coming but he does not know anything about goats. Her tongue is turning blue, she is not crying as much she is weak, and she fell once. Is there any hope

Tina, The dosage for the motrin is 1 cc per 10 pounds. I am dealing with a disbudding problem right now also. One of mine actually went into shock, NEVER have I had any problems disbudding before. After all these years, I am still learning as I go. Anyway, if you have banamine, that will help probably better even than the motrin. She is holding her head up because her little head is tender and sore. My vet had me give my little one everything from Fortified B complex, to penicillin, however, my little guy was a life or death situation; thank God I had some epinephrine on hand. it definitely saved him, he was staggering and stopped breathing. I thought sure he was a goner. However, I have another one that is not acting just right either, though. I am so worried and frustrated over this. I will be up most of the night checking on them. It is 11:00 p.m. here. Good luck with your little girl. Hopefully Maggie will be able to post soon with helpful news for the both of us.

I am giving Motrin and the fever is 104.8 again and she is screaming lightly every now and then looking up in the air. I think the disbudding iron was on a second too long but it really does not look bad. What can I do? This doe is a very special one and I do not want to lose her. She is in the house and as long as I hold her, she seems better.

Pediatricians say put a human baby in a cool (not cold) bath to bring dangerous temps down. Don't know if that is good for baby goats though.

My little girl was just disbudded yesterday. She has a fever of 105+. She is acting ok, but seems to hold her head up. I gave her aspring because I have no motrin here. My daughter is rushing to get some as I write this. What can I do to get the temp down? She can see ok and is not acting like it has effected her mentally.
