CDT vaccine must be refrigerated at all times. It can't be kept at room temp even before you start using it. Always check the bottle instructions of any med (vaccine, dewormer, antibiotic) for the temperature it must be kept at in storage. Most are either contolled rome temp (70-85 degrees, not out in the barn roasting and freezing) or refrigerated (35-45 degrees). If I am pretty sure I am not going to use the whole bottle when I am out vaccinating I keep the bottle on ice in an insulated cup while out in the barn. That way it never really gets warm and lasts a long time. (Message edited by maggieleman on January 15, 2007) |
