This doe you say has toxemia the calcium is more so for milk fever. I would go with magic 4 times a day 3 ounces each time, If you want to give extra calcium give her CMPK or MFO orally that does not burn as bad. Also give her water with molasses mixed in for a energy burst. Barbara Howard Capri-Medic jamesa@mrtc.com 606-522-3388 KY

Glad you are still there though maybe you left already! Should have known as soon as it said IV, especially if it burns their mouths. Thanks for the info I'll just order more calcium drench then. This is a little less expensive than what I have now. This would be ok right? Just as long as it has those first 4 ingredients... Oral Cal MPK Solution of calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, potassium, and dextrose. For use as a supplemental nutritive source. Thanks again! And have a great trip! It's 9 degrees here right now. It was 57 yesterday, Iliked yesterday better. Cindy

With the injectable calcium you have to go IV (IP is into the abdominal cavity). If you inject SQ or IM it also makes a caustic burn (NOT GOOD!). The calcium drench has propylene glycol in it. Propylene glycol is ONLY an easily digested sugar. It is given to supply energy to a goat that is not eating, it does not treat the calcium deficiency. If you feel you need to give something for energy, Magic Solution is just as good and tastes better. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

Giving my doe calcium drench right now for toxemia. Need to order more and saw there is an injectable form(but I think at least one of them said it's IV or IP [not sure what IP is]-is this ok for goats or do we have to do it orally-she just hates it (Maggie did tell me to give her warm water to rinse her mouth which we are doing). Would propylene glychol be enough for the toxemia or should I stick with the calcium drench? Does the propylene burn like the calcium drench? Cindy
