LOL ! Thanks Elaine - i'm glad you told me that, cause i was thinking it needed to go in the fridge - like penicillin. I'm pretty picky about the smells and taste of my food/beverages too - so i appreiate it :-)

I just can't say thank you as much as i mean it :-) I'm SOOOO glad i found you guys - i'm sure i'll use this forum quite a bit, and all the usefull knowlege that is here - heck i've got kids due this spring - i'm more comfortable with this, but have you ever noticed that excitment (with your own animal) can make you forget things ?

Elaine - so you are an hour ahead of me - got it, and i will try not to call too late :-) Not too many people will understand it when you say you are worried sick about your goat and that you love your goat ( heck some don't even with dogs or cats-people these days ), i'm glad that you all understand - it helps a lot.

Don't put the bottle of B in the fridge.
It and everything you put in it will permantly stink like B.
I've bleached the inside of my fridge and still can't get a can of coke not to taste like vitamin B.

Hang in Chrystyna! She sounds like a wonderful pet. You are probably right on about her weight, stay with 3 cc for now, more is better than not quite enough. Be prepared for her urine and poop to stink (like the B Complex).

She is 1/2 Saanan, 1/2 nubian - but is VERY runty, i had pygmys as a kid, and she is only about the height of an adult pygmy - her withers come up to my knee, possibly even shorter, with a dairy goat build - but she is skinny and very petite. She is just a pet quality, but means the world to me - she is my little side kick, and i bottle fed her, and she and i have a very close bond. Oh, she will be two in April 2007.

As for giving it SQ - that is what i will do, since she really doesn't have much muscle at this time, i'm glad you said that. I have seen many IV shots given, but have just never done it myself ( however will someday get the experiance as i'm now attending school for to be a vet. tech. ) However, my mother was an RN for 20 + yrs and has lots of experiance with shots(both human and animal), and she can do it IV - so if it may make a big difference i can have her give it for the first one. Thanks~

If she starts to go downhill again before the next dose is due go ahead and give another dose. You can give all of them SQ, it is absorbed only a little slower than by IM and your goat will thank you for it, much less painful. Most goat keepers can't even give an IV injection.

What kind of goat and how old? My yearling pygmies weigh 40 pounds easy I have grown pygmy does that weigh 75 to 80 pounds. Mine are all registered and I do show, so they are really pygmies....
