I don't think he's purebred because his mom is a big roan colored percentage doe. I'm not up on all the Boer colors but didn't think roan was an option. I am just guessing he's probably 3/4 or thereabouts. Whatever he is, we're going to hang onto him and try him on a few young does we are raising, and see how and what he produces. Thanks for all the compliments. These are our first babies and we think they all are terrific but this one stood out. We named him Chunk....He felt like a chunk of firewood the first time I picked him up...lol |

He looks pure-bred there is one way to tell if they are that you don't need blood samples look at his tail web if he has spots then he is pure-bred if not hes a cross this works most boer kids have spotted tails then when they grow the spots bec become sloid or keep the spots |

This is definitely a non emergency but I wanted to show my new buckling. His mom is a % Boer doe that we bought at auction...dangerous, I know but she looked right and has proven to be healthy. As I'm sure all pregnant does are touted at auctions, she was supposed to be bred to a purebred buck, but just figured it to be chin music.....Well late New Years Eve I made my last check of the night and there he was. As of this afternoon he weighs almost 13 pounds, and I may be prejudiced, but I think he's a handsome boy. |
