Zinc and copper deficiency can cause hair loss, put out several feeders of minerals so she can have access to at least one. Look for a mineral with 900 to 1500 ppm copper and 3000 to 5000 ppm zinc. Stress can also contribute to hair loss as can lice.

We had something like that. One day the hair was there the next day it was gone and the skin was all shiney but looked healthy. We gave 2cc of ivomec and the hair started to grow back after two-three days. This was on her face though, never had the problem on the back so it could be deficient in something.
I THINK Maggie has told me that one of the minerals can cause this too if they are deficient. You might want to check the amounts that are in the mineral. I forget what they need to be off hand but I'm sure she'll reply to you.

I have a three year old dairy doe recently dried off who has lost some hair in patches. She lost hair in one spot and then this week in another. It is only in two places on her back and she is otherwise healthy. The skin in the bald areas apears smooth and healthy, no irritation or flaking. The patches are 3-4 inches in diameter, but winter is coming. The hair surrounding the first patch is firm but the hair around the latest is coming off with light pulling. She has been with the other two does and all of their kids for three months, but the kids have all been harvested in the past 3 weeks and the other girls are being hard on her. She is getting a pound and a half a day of a 16% grain and good timothy hay all day.

Stress induced hair loss? We provide a good goat free choice mineral but may be they don't let her at it, mineral deficiency? The health of the skin keeps me from thinking parasites.
Any other suggestions?
