I use baking soda also, but I get it is 50lb. bags at the local Agway in the raw form known as sodium bicarbonate, livestock use/safe. It lasts forever and the goats use it all the time, as it is free choice along with Golden Blend minerals. When the dishes get low I can see teeth marks on the bottm of the dishes, so I know the goats are needing/wanting it.

Baking soda free choice can be helpful to goats on a high grain diet, like wethers being fattened for market or does being milked for maximum production. If your goats are getting plenty of hay and/or plenty of natural forage they don't really need baking soda. Hay and forage contain alot of natural bicarbonate.

The fiascofarm.com website has a very good meds and wormer chart. I have them printed out and reference them all the time.

Is it a good idea to have free choice baking soda available to my goats? I picked this up somewhere but can't find the reference.

Also What is the proper temperature range for goats?

I'm putting together a journal of handy info, and doseage amounts to aid my failing memory when a situation arises.
Thanks
Dwight
