You might try calling Valley Vet, Jeffers or Pipestone supply, they have on staff vets that may be able to help you get epi. In 16 years I haven't needed it, after giving 1000's of injections, so don't panic yet. Don't cut yourself off from an otherwise helpful vet over this. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

I certainly would and I would start looking for a new vet too! Rare is rare not an impossibility. Wow - I'm sorry. Cattle people are the only ones who seem to get what they need all the time-apparently they are the only ones who know what they are doing. Best wishes in your hunt for a reasonable vet! Cindy Cindy

He even went as far as to call the manufactorer of the Bar-Vac CD&T vaccine to see if it was necessary for the epinephrine. They told him that very rarely does an allergic reaction occur with the vaccine. So he still won't sell it to me. I am very displeased with him. I am not asking him for a large amount, just enough to have on hand in case I need it. I guess tomarrow I will call around to other vets to see if I can get some. Terry

I had the same problem. He kept telling me well you can't just give it to them "just incase". over and over we went over this. Just ask what you are supposed to do when one of your goats goes into shock from a shot you give. They know time is critical then. Give him/her an arguement, let them know you know what you are talking about. They all think we don't know what we're doing-because sometimes they know less about them than we do. If the agrument doesn't work ask if he'll give you 2-3 doses to have on hand just in case-they might do that. Keep trying. Some vets have it out on shelves for purchase. Just call around. Cindy

After searching for 3 weeks to find a knowledgeable goat person to come to my farm to teach me to trim hooves and vaccinate my pygmies, I finally found her. She breeds and shows dairy goats. I have been running around like a chicken with my head cut off all week trying to make sure that I have everything on hand we will need for Saturday, I put a call into my vet whom I've been dealing with for 10 years and he won't sell me any epinephrine???????? Now what am I going to do?????? I will be looking for a new vet, I do know that. Terry
