The microbes in the goat's digestive systems usually manufacture all the B vitamins they need. Keep that rumen and intestinal microbes happy and the goat is in good shape. B Vitamins are not stored in the body. What isn't needed right then is eliminated in the urine. So giving it every so often only effects the level of B vitamins for a few hours. Giving B vitamins is a good idea if the goat is stressed, ill, off feed, when giving antibiotics. All of these things can adversely affect the digestive microbes. Give probios at the same time to help put back those microbes. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

Hi, Kim I give 15cc/100 lbs of Vitamin B Complex you can't overdose what they don't use they flush out in urine. I keep out a good loose free choice mineral as well as trace mineral salt and they get what they need from it as they need it.

With all the problems that can arise from goats having even a little Vit. B or thiamin deficiency, I was wondering, would it be wise to just give them a dose of B complex every so often and at what dose? Or is this not necessary? I have SO much to learn yet. |
