Yes give a booster CDT in 3 weeks then booster one more time 3 weeks after that. Then for the very best protection booster every 6 months. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

Thanks Maggie. I can't believe what wonderful pets these little pygmy's are. I absolutley adore them and sit for hours just watching them. Sitting with my pygmy's is my peaceful place and a great stress releaver. Thanks for all the information, I will get the CDT shots done this weekend. Assuming this is the first shots they've ever had when should I give them again? Terry

Yes you can give it SQ. You can give nearly all injections SQ from vaccines to antibiotics to vitamin and mineral supplements. I haven't given an IM injection in years. Give it in the loose skin over the ribs just behind the elbow. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

Thanks Maggie. I have just recently acquired these goats and still have alot to learn. I have learned alot on this site already. None of these goats have ever been wormed so I wanted to hurry and get it done. When I checked all of their lower inner eye lids they were all rosey pink but I went ahead and wormed them anyway. They next task is to give their CDT vaccine but I am a little nervous about giving the shot. I give my puppies all of their shots sq, is the process the same in goats? Terry |

Just one dose should do it. Be sure to check a fecal sample 3 to 4 weeks after deworming and/or keep an eye on the color of the lower inner eyelids to be sure the color improves. Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic

I wormed my small pygmy herd yesterday with Ivermectin 1% Cattle Injection at 1cc per 25lbs and am going to repeat the process today. From what I have read on this site I should repeat it in 2 weeks. My question is when I worm again in 2 weeks do I repeat it for 2 days or just one day? I gave the wormer orally. Thank you, Terry |
