Maggie, what does twice the cattle weight mean? If the ivermectin doesn't work this time, thats what I have, then I will order some cydectin because my feed store doesn't carry it. Thanks for the advice!

You can try the ivermectin again at 1 cc per 25 pounds given orally. Give the adult dose of Geritol liquid once or twice a day. It could be you need to change dewormers if the last dose of ivermectin was given at teh proper dose but she still has very pale membranes. She should show signs of recovery from anemia in 2 weeks from deworming. Maybe not all the way back but definitely less anemic. If she isn't better try switching to cydectin at twice the cattle dose by weight or synanthic at 2 to 3 times the cattle dose by weight. Both are given orally.

I will check the temp. Its a good chance its worms because I treated her with invermectin because she had the white eyes. I also did a repeat 2 weeks later. If she still has white eyes should I give her the ivermectin again? How long is it before there eyes look rosy? I also will give her the vitamin B and I picked up some Geritol. How much do I give?

Sandra could be right, check the temp. Goats will continue to "act fine" for as long as they can to not attract the attention of predators and to be accepted by the herd. Goats with pneumonia will pant, breathe hard and breathe faster. They will also stand alot rather than lay down because laying down makes it harder to breathe.

Also check her lower inner eyelids, they should be deep rosy pink. if they are pale or white she is anemic from worms. Anemia can cause panting and heavy breathing due to oxygen deprivation especially after any exercise.

Flaky dry skin can be a sign of mineral deficiency, particularly zinc and maybe copper. What kind of minerals do they have access to? What is the zinc and copper content?

This sounds like what was going on when my little buck had pneumonia. Have you checked her temp? If is is high I would think that is it. I can let you know what worked for me.

My 6 month old doe is panting or doing some heavy breathing. She is acting normal every other way. What could be going on? She is also flaking alot of dry skin. All the other goats seem fine. Any advice?
