Hi, I am late on this one . What is her temp that will tell if it is an infection. Prop her front end up higher than the back to help her breathing. Does she seemed to be bloated is her tummy big or tight. have you seen her pass feces? Does she have a cough? Please get back to me ASAP on this you can email at jamesa@mrtc.com or call 606-522-3388. From what you are describing, I think you would do best calling out or taking her into a vet ASAP. When they are in this condition they are most likely in the critical stage where immediate care needs to be provided. I think you may be seeing a possible combination of symptoms associated with pneumonia and worms. While you are getting in touch with a vet, you might mix up a bit of warm karo syrup, corn syrup and molasses to try and get her to drink willingly. I wouldn't force her at this point. Please keep us posted. Best regards, Gary Pfalzbot |

I went out to check her again and spent some time listening to her breathing. IT is not an obstruction. She thrashes also like she is in pain. She is also burping a lot. She breathes in, then it s like a moaning, then she breathes out. Possibly lung worms? I checked her top eyelid and it was white. |

Does she have another symptoms that would indicate a respiratory problem? Important to know her temperature to see if above normal. Any wheezing sound while trying to breathe? Head drooping? Glassy eyes? Eating ok? Teeth grinding? Is she kept in a dry shelter? If not of pneumonia nature then perhaps be a mold outbreak causing it? More details would help for an accurate diagnose. A forum medic will respond soon. |
