Jeff please post more details so the forum medics can help you. What are the ages of the goat(s) with the diarrhea problem? What exactly are they eating every day? Have you given them any deworming medicine lately? Coccidiosis are protozoa parasites that destroys the lining of the intestine after a time. It mainly occurs in goats under 1 year of age. Symptom is diarrhea. Result is death if left untreated. To treat for coccidia, you would need to give a sulfa drug such as Albon or Sulmet 12.5% Drinking Water Solutions. These are sold at the feedstore for poultry, rabbits and cattle. Do not mix with the water, give it straight from the bottle as a drench, a 1 cc per 5 pounds for 5 days. As Dawn pointed out, there are also other things that can cause diarrhea such as improper or contaminated feed or water. Some plants have toxic effects on goats. These are just a few hit or miss guesses without knowing details of your situation and environment. |

Have you thought of coccidiosis? Just a thought? You didn't give any other info. so it is hard to help diagnose. Is there a fever, worms, change in feed, different hay? Dawn |
