For double the dose: if the dose for cattle is 1 cc per 100 pounds then the dose for goats is 2 cc per 100 pounds or 1 cc per 50 pounds. Ivermectin is very safe, be generous! To calculate an animals weight: Measure in inches around the heart girth (around the body just behind the front legs) Measure in inches the length of the body from teh point of the shoulder at the chest to the pinbones at the base of the tail multiply: heart girth x heart girth x length of body Divide by 300 for the estimated weight in pounds. This formula works for nearly all animals. I even tried it on me and Dan and it is amazingly accurate (certainly close enough for giving medication!) Maggie Leman Goat 911 Capri Medic
