Great! Thanks again Maggie. This has been a tough, but valuable lesson. While I still have so much to learn you and this forum are a BIG part of my education about goats. |

Thankfully the wether is doing much better. I do not think he and the donkey got as much as the doe did of the chicken feed. Both of them had already meandered over to an adjacent empty paddock and somehow closed the gate behind them. The doe was still in with the chicken feed. I had the wether stalled to treat him for the past couple of days. Yesterday he eagerly gobbled up some fresh grass I had gathered for him. So I returned him to the pasture with the donkey. Problem is now this guy who is usually extremely friendly will not let me get near him. I guess he thinks I'm going to give him more meds. I had actually planned to give more pen today since I was only able to give two doses a day (SQ and orally), because I have to be gone during the day. He seems good though. He is active, nibbling hay, etc. His poop is still a little clumpy from the milk of mag. I have also been giving yogart to him. Is there anything else I should be doing for this guy? |
