As far as we can tell he has been urinating on
himself. Unfortunately he is solid black which
makes it a little harder to tell. I will examine
him more later.
He has never shown any signs of pain.
I thought with the nutritionist that they were
getting all the minerals they needed.
What should I do now and can it be corrected
to finish our breeding season?

I sent in a Goat911 Emergency request as well
and that has my number. Please call me.

Has he been urinating on himself (his face, forelegs and beard). They extend when they do this. He may have a sheath infection (like pizzle rot) that makes it painful to extend. Some bucks with zinc deficiency will have a lower libido. Thye may mount but not complete the act. CA is very mineral deficient.

Have you ever experienced any of the things that I will describe about this buck? For some reason he can't breed.

I have done this to all of the other buck's with no problem: They are clipped, hoof trimmed, wormed, vaccinated, and they are on a good nutrional diet which also consists of a small amount of a buck ration of grain. I don't know what else to do.

EXAMPLE:
Yesturday I put an alpine milker with him since she was in heat. He kept trying to breed her until her patience wore off. He mounts her continuously but does not get any errection. He does not even extend. He really, reallllyyyyy want's to breed her but....nothing. I watched him for over an hour to make sure he was able to go to the bathroom and he has.
Even my father has checked throughout the day and he has no problem urinating. He just won't get "excited" enough to do any breeding. No matter how many times he continues to mount.

All of our other bucks are doing fine.
This buck does "Smell" so I know he should be capable. He is only about 5 or 6 year's old.

Our California Weather right now is Low to Mid 90's. He is housed out of the sun and has a nice
cool breeze for the weather.

Does any of this sound familiar? Can I do anything for him? Will this pass?
