Thanks Barbara. I'll give my vet a call right now as I don't have the Dexamethazone on hand. I was wondering what the PenG is for though? She is one of our bottle babies and before she got her head stuck this morning she followed us all around while we did the chores pleading her case on why she should still be a bottle baby . Her eyelids are bright pink, no scours, etc so I just wanted to be sure what the Pen G was given for. If it will help her in anyway I will gladly give it to her!!! Thanks so much!! |

She may need and xray to see the extent of the injury. I would put her on 2cc of Dexamethazone sq twice a day it is a steroid that promotes healing. Go ahead and put her on some penicillin 1cc/20 lbs sq twice a day also. Barbara Howard Capri-Medic jamesa@mrtc.com 606-522-3388 KY

I have a 3 month old doeling that got her head hung up in a feeder sometime this morning and unfortunately her "pals" thought she needed to be shoved around before we found her. She has no external signs of injury but is having trouble balancing and lifing her head higher than her backbone. She was perfectly fine this morning, she is responsive, is walking (although akwardly) is eating, drinking, pooping, peeing, and has no temperature, but primarily appears to be very tender all over. I have administered Childrens motrin @ 1cc/10#s and it seems to be helping but I wondered if anyone else had another/better idea? Thanks |
